Software products for cleaning up and enhancing your data
Are your name-and-address databases jumbled up, full of duplicates,

Address Object: This is a programmer's toolkit
that can catch data-input errors and standardize & enhance addresses,
helping to ensure the integrity of your database.
dedupeIT: This is a very affordable,
streamlined duplicate-detection program that is designed for low-volume use.
GeoCoder Object: This is a programmer's
toolkit that locates map coordinates from a street address and adds
latitude/longitude coordinates. Pass a ZIP+4 code to the GeoCoder API
and it returns the latitude & longitude coordinates along with the
census tract data and block boundary.
Global Address Batch: This is an advanced,
automated data-processing application that cleanses and enhances name and
address data for more than 200 countries. It can function either on the desktop or
within a specialist data-processing environment. It can standardize, validate,
and correct mixed data from more than 200 countries and territories simultaneously.
Global Address Interactive: This software
enables rapid and accurate address capture for over 200 countries. It is an
ideal product for call centers/contact centers, for customer relationship management
(CRM) systems, and for many other database applications. Global Address Interactive
provides a fast and reliable way of capturing precision data using minimal
information. From as few as eight keystrokes, Global Address Interactive can
create an accurate postal address in correct country format. It can also return
a full postal address from incorrect and partial data.
Global Address Web: This product is designed
for use with Web-based data-entry forms. It cleans up, standardizes, and
enriches address data for over 200 countries.
MAILERS+4: This is mailing-list software
(bulk-mailing software) that runs on Windows. This easy-to-use software allows you
to automate your mailing process so that you can meet the U.S. Postal Service's
requirements for maximum postage discounts. The Standard version is a budget-wise
product for low-volume use; the Professional version allows you to process
large databases and has additional features.
matchIT: This product lets you find duplicate
records and also handles related tasks. Features include ODBC support,
effective matching of both business data and consumer data, phonetic matching,
non-phonetic fuzzy matching, and much more.
MatchUp: Formerly named "DoubleTake,"
MatchUp lets you find duplicate records and also handles related tasks. It is an
extraordinary merge/purge solution that allows you to process files in different
formats, with different field structures, without taking the time to manipulate
the files and get them all into the same format with the same field structure.
For example, you can process dBASE, Xbase, and ASCII files in one run — and
it's okay if the names and addresses are not in the same fields in all of the files.
Personator: This is a solution that splits
name fields into prefix, first name, middle name, last name, and suffix/title;
does genderization (adds the correct prefix); and makes perfect salutations.
Personator can also split addresses into components.
RightFielder: This is a program that straightens
out jumbled databases! If you have databases with fields in different order
and/or with the wrong information in the wrong fields (for example, company name
is in the city field, state is in the ZIP code field, etc.), RightFielder is for
you! RightFielder even works in situations where you've got more than one kind
of data in the same field (for example, if the city and state are together in one field).
StyleList: This software converts ALL UPPER
to Upper/Lower case or vice versa, expands user-definable abbreviations or
creates them, corrects punctuation, and controls field lengths.

Russian criminals are sending out spam with attached PDF files that can steal your identity!

According to recent eWeek articles, Russian criminals are sending out
spam with attached PDF files that surreptitiously download malware capable
of capturing your bank-account numbers, Social Security number, and other
personal identifying information. eWeek says spamming of the rigged
PDFs reached "massive proportions" near the end of October.
