Reply Mail Designer is a computer program that allows you
to create Business Reply envelopes & postcards quickly and easily with a PC and a
laser printer, inkjet printer or imagesetter. You can run Reply
Mail Designer under Windows 3.x, Windows 95, Windows 98,
Windows NT, OS/2, or DOS. (You can probably also run it under
Windows 2000 and Windows ME, though we haven't tested it
with these two operating systems.)
When you use Reply Mail Designer to
create Business Reply envelopes & postcards, you can:
- specify what fonts to use for text
- specify custom sizes for your envelopes and postcards
- lay out several copies of an envelope or postcard on the same page
- create envelopes & postcards in Adobe Illustrator EPS format, which can be used with programs such as Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW!, and Microsoft Word on many types of computers (Windows, DOS, Macintosh, Unix, and others)
- suppress printing of specified text and graphic elements
- print color separations
and much more!

Important note about Courtesy Reply mailpieces
In addition to creating Business Reply mailpieces,
the Reply Mail Designer software can also create
Courtesy Reply mailpieces. However, the method that
Reply Mail Designer uses to generate the POSTNET bar code
for a Courtesy Reply mailpiece is obsolete, due to the fact
that the U.S. Postal Service has changed the specifications
for creating the POSTNET bar codes for Courtesy Reply mailpieces.
Because of this, some Courtesy Reply mailpieces that are
created by Reply Mail Designer might have POSTNET bar codes that
are incorrect.
If you need to create Courtesy Reply mailpieces, you should
use our mailpiece-design Web site,

instead of depending on the Reply Mail Designer software.
If you only need to create Business Reply mailpieces, though,
the Reply Mail Designer software will work file.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING THE REPLY MAIL DESIGNER DEMO SOFTWARE:
The Reply Mail Designer demo software is contained in a
Zip-format file named "Rmddemo.zip." To download the
demo software, click on
"Download Rmddemo.zip" below. A "pop-up" menu
should appear on your screen. Choose "Save target as..."
or "Save link as..." from the pop-up menu,
specify the directory on your computer where you want to put
the downloaded file, and choose "Save" from the
box that appears on your screen.
After you have downloaded the Rmddemo.zip file, you must
unzip it. On most computers that are running Windows 3.x,
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, or OS/2, you can initiate the
unzipping process
by navigating to the directory containing the
Rmddemo.zip file and double-clicking on the icon for the
Rmddemo.zip file. On a DOS computer,
you must use PKUNZIP.EXE or a similar program to
unzip the file.
Once you've unzipped the Rmddemo.zip file, use Notepad,
WordPad, or a similar program to read the Readme.txt file,
which is one of the files that Rmddemo.zip contains.
The Readme.txt file tells you how to use the demo software.
