Like FullSWITCH, PowerSWITCH
is robust publishing-workflow-automation software that is easy to
install and use. PowerSWITCH can do everything that FullSWITCH
can do; and in addition, PowerSWITCH provides support for
scripting; this make it possible to extend the functionality of
PowerSWITCH in various ways. PowerSWITCH also comes with
a workgroup client that allows anyone in the workgroup
to submit jobs from his or her own workstation,
to track the progress of those jobs, to intervene with a
job when necessary, and to view activity logs and statistics.
As with FullSWItch,
you control PowerSWITCH's
functionality with the drag-and-drop
"visual flow editor."

Create your own custom tools

PowerSWITCH lets you create your own custom tools to
control third-party applications that aren't supported out of
the box, to integrate with a Digital Asset Management (DAM) or MIS system, or
to interact with proprietary software.

behave like PowerSWITCH's built-ins — you can even specify
your own custom icons.
PowerSWITCH supports JavaScript (on both Mac OS/X and Windows),
AppleScript (on Mac OS/X), and Visual Basic Scripting (on Windows).

taking advantage of metadata that
is stored with documents.
PowerSWITCH provides tools to read incoming
metadata in various formats, including XML,
