QUESTION: What is data enhancement?
ANSWER: The term
"data enhancement" refers to a set of procedures for
adding information to the records in an existing database. When
we talk about data enhancement in the
context of printing, publishing, and direct-mail technology, we're
usually referring a process
that adds information to a database containing names and addresses.
Software systems are available for adding quite a few different kinds
of information to a name-and-address database — for example:
- latitude & longitude
- telephone numbers
- Standard Industry Codes (SIC) or North American Industry Classification System Codes
(NAICS) — if the database contains names and addresses of businesses
Citation Software offers a number of software products that do various
