Appligent's "APActiveCheck" product checks PDF files for elements that could compromise security
|
APRIL 24, 2003 — Appligent has released its
new "APActiveCheck" product, which runs on a
server and checks PDF
files for Active Content.
Active Content is any element that could compromise security.
Active content in PDF files includes:
- Launch actions
- Submit-form actions
- Embedded files
- Encrypted content
- External file reference
- JavaScript
- URI actions (includes URN or URL)
- Remote GoTo actions
- Postscript XObjects
APActiveCheck scans PDF documents for active content
and returns a report on each type and amount of active
content found.
It is becoming increasingly common for organizations
like the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) or the
International Trade Commission (ITC) to implement
guidelines for submissions and automatically reject
PDF documents that are not in compliance.
Don't be caught unaware and forced to revise
and resubmit time-sensitive documents. Scan your PDF
files with APActiveCheck and assure compliance
before submission. For example, documents destined
for an archive can be checked to assure they
do not contain encrypted content or links
to external web sites.
Pricing: APActiveCheck costs only $199.00 USD per server.
Platforms supported:
- Windows NT/2000/XP
- Mac OS X
- Linux
- Solaris
- HP-UX
- AIX
