New DL-100/DL-1000 version 2.1 variable-data-printing software offers direct support for Quark 6.0 on Mac
|
NOVEMBER 10, 2004 — Version 2.1 of the DL-100/DL-1000
variable-data-printing software has been introduced.
This new version offers direct support for Macintosh users that utilize
QuarkXpress 6.0 for document design; and it also offers several other
enhancements. Here is a brief description of the new features:
- Direct support for Quark 6.0 on the Mac.This feature allows Macintosh
users to import style definitions and color definitions from Quark 6.0
into the DL-100 Acrobat-based template-creation environment.
- Dynamic page insertion. This allows for creation of variable-length
documents on a record-by-record basis.
- Repeatable components. This feature allows the user to create templates
that are suitable for the production of catalogs and other documents with layouts
that are similar to a catalog's layout.
- "Chunking." This allows the user to generate output
for different portions of the job simultaneously. By taking
advantage of this feature, the user can start printing and RIPping a print job
before the entire job has been composed.
- PPML output has been improved.
- VPS output has been improved.
- JavaScript rules are supported on the Mac as well as on Windows.
- VIPP output is supported on the Mac as well as on Windows.
- The DL-100 "Collect" utility offers the option to Zip the files that are being collected.
This makes it easier to transport the files to another DL-100 user or to a
DL-1000 environment.
