was approved recently by CGATS (The Committee
for Graphic Arts Technologies Standards) and is now
available for purchase.
It costs $40.00 US to obtain a
copy of the PPML/VDX standard, whose official name is
CGATS.20, "Graphic Technology — Variable printing data exchange using

What is PPML/VDX?
PPML/VDX is a standard that specifies a way to use information in
PPML format and PDF
format for the exchange or identification of the elements needed to render
a variable-data-publishing
job as intended by the person or entity that created it.
Formerly known as "VDX," PPML/VDX
technology allows electronic-publishing
software to package the information needed to
produce a variable-data-printing job (or
a variable-data-publishing job) inside one or
more PDF files.
