Snowbound Software demonstrates solutions for Web-enabling PDF files and images at AIIM 2003
|
APRIL 14, 2003 — On the AIIM 2003 trade-show floor
April 7-9, 2003 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City,
Snowbound Software
representatives demonstrated several of the company's
imaging solutions and technologies.
Among other things, Snowbound Software offers developer
tools that can convert a PDF file to JPEG format, incorporate it
into an HTML page, and allow a developer to expose
controls that let a user manipulate the image within
his Web browser (zoom, scroll, etc.).
The company's SnowServ product, a thin-client (HTML)
Web-imaging solution, generated a lot of interest
for Web-enabling images.
Snowbound also announced the release of
RasterMaster 7.0, which builds upon the
company's popular family of RasterMaster SDKs.
Written entirely in the Java programming language,
version 7.0 provides powerful raster-image display
and manipulation capabilities, enabling
developers to easily incorporate these
features into their internal or commercial
applications. The latest major enhancements
include PDF text searching and Swing scroll bar support.
Are you a developer that is creating a Web-based application
that generates PDF files? If so, you might have discovered
that it's not a good idea to try to depend on
the Adobe Acrobat/browser combination to display the
finished PDF files unless you are sure that all of your users
will use computers that are configured to support this.
By utilizing Snowbound's solutions, you can avoid
this problem altogether by displaying
the finished product (a PDF file) as an image embedded
in an HTML page.
