QUESTION: What is VIPP?
ANSWER: VIPP stands for "Variable Data Intelligent PostScript Printware." VIPP is a print-optimization technology that's designed especially for printing variable-data documents on Xerox printers.
Like other print-optimization technologies, VIPP allows variable-data documents to print faster than they would print if a print-optimization technology was not used. This is accomplished by allowing the printer/RIP to process the static information for a variable-data print run only once, instead of processing the static information over and over, once for each document in the print run.
VIPP was invented by Xerox Corporation.
Some but not all Xerox printers support VIPP.
